THE RIVER EXPLORER
3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS
Horseback Riding & Whitewater Rafting
FOR ONLY
CDN $ 550.00
Day 1 – Sunday
Arrival at the Wells Gray Guest Ranch at 10.00 a.m. Registration at the desk. After the formalities you will meet the wranglers at the barn. We saddle our horses and pack the packhorses. We spend some time getting to know our horses and get familiar with some riding techniques. Instruction includes details on how to ride western style and how to handle your horse on the trail and various terrain. Around noon we depart for the Flat Iron Viewpoint where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon we descend along Trout Creek Canyon to the old Cabin down by the Clearwater River. We set up camp and start the first campfire BBQ.
Day 2 – Monday
We mount our horses earlier today as we do not have to pack packhorses and cross Hemp Creek. Along this creek we ride north until we reach the old "Hoods in the woods camp". From there we ascend the Coal Creek Bluffs and ride along the bluffs to Moul Creek Falls. Here we can walk down and behind this impressive fall. Mid afternoon we return to the camp.
Day 3 – Tuesday
Late this morning the Interior Whitewater Rafting company will land their rafts at the shores by our camp. We will receive safety instructions and then board the raft for a thrill of a lifetime. The "Sabre Tooth" and many other rapids together with a delicious lunch and a short hike will complete a perfect day. In the evening transfer back to the ranch where we can pick up our gear and vehicle or stay another night.
