WELLS GRAY EXPLORER

3 DAYS/ 2 NIGHTS

FOR ONLY $ 425.00

The best way of exploring Wells Gray Park is hiking nature- and historic trails along the Wells Gray Park corridor combined with paddling the crystal clear waters of Clearwater Lake. Camp on sandy beaches enjoying the sunsets and spectacular views of the Caribou Mountains on a memorable outdoor adventure. This three day trip starts and ends at the Wells Gray Guest Ranch (www.wellsgrayranch.com) near the entrance to the park.

Day 1
Arrival at the Wells Gray Guest Ranch at 09.00 a.m. Register at the desk. After meeting your guide at 09.30 drive to Green Mountain Viewing tower overlooking the southern part of Wells Gray Park. We continue on to visit Dawson Falls, also nick named "Little Niagara" and then drive to Clearwater Lake. There our guide will give us a detailed introduction into paddling techniques and environmental ethics before we paddle our canoes for approx. 3 hours to a beautiful camp setting, where we will set up camp for two nights.

Day 2
Today we explore Clearwater Lake with our canoes, enjoy some fishing and possibly observe wildlife. An approximately 1 hour hike to Eagle’s View presents another chance to see wildlife and to enjoy a beautiful vista over Clearwater Lake. Second night at the camp.

Day 3
After a relaxing breakfast we paddle back to the canoe launch and put away our canoes and paddle gear. After stopping at Bailey's Chute where you can see the salmon jumping in August we visit majestic Helmcken Falls (2.5 times the height of Niagara Falls) and admire the powerful waters plunging into the impressive lava canyon. Return to the Wells Gray Guest Ranch and arrive at approx. 04.30 p.m..
